Danomics + Claude: Using PetroDan to Set Parameters

AI IntegrationAugust 5, 2026

Your Claude (LLM) account can connect to your Danomics account. This is outlined in this article on how to set up a Danomics Connect for Claude. You will need to have completed this setup (or a similar one) to follow along with the tutorial below.

In this tutorial we will be have Claude leverage PetroDan to set parameters in our Quick Start module.

Full Steam Ahead!

This tutorial continues on from using Claude + Danomics: Evaluating Tops and Setting Up Zones. If you haven't yet done so, take a look at that video.

What good would it be to have Claude if it couldn't leverage PetroDan, our internal AI assistant? PetroDan has some advantages in that it has deep knowledge on Danomics equations, methods, and best practices. So let's get Claude and PetroDan to talk.

The prompt:

For the key well's Quickstart module can you get the PetroDan AI assistant to recommend the lithology presets, salinity, cutoffs presets, and well defaults?

Claude runs the request and comes back with a nicely formatted table of PetroDan's suggestions and asks us if it should apply them.

We then authorize Claude to do so with the prompt:

Yes, please write those.

Claude applies the suggestions and we have started our interpretation.

Summary

Again, we can now see how we can get Claude to analyze, synthesize, and apply changes to our CPI - this time in concert with PetroDan. It is now getting easier to see how all these requests could be chained together to take an interpretation from start to finish autonomously.

Parameters There are three parameters that are set on a zone-by-zone basis and two parameters that are set on a full-well basis. These are as follows. Discussion The parameters are linked to what are called named_defaults in the software. These are collections of defaults that can be set through assigning a single parameter.

To do this, the following Flow tools are used: LogInput >> Bring the log data into the Flow LogMath >> Perform some calculation LogOutput >> Writes the log data to a new log database. There can be as many LogMath tools added to a flow as one would like, and they can be added to existing Flows ushc as a Log Clean-up Flow. The LogMath tool is extremely flexible.
